COHLIT is pleased to announce that our Rutgers Online Learning Help Desk phone, email, and support systems for Canvas are up and running. You will be able to reach out for help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The help button will follow you throughout your Canvas experience in the global navigation. See image below.
Canvas Settings allows instructors to import content, set course navigation, add links to external tools, and adjust other course-level settings in your Canvas course. Canvas Settings will also allow instructors to control participation dates and course visibility. Canvas Settings help you to control when your students can view and participate in your course.
In Video Quiz (IVQ) is now enabled in Canvas as a new external tool for assignments. IVQ is powered by Kaltura. In-video quizzing will allow instructors to have students answer questions at certain time points in the video. The score for the quizzes will appear in the Canvas grades.
Publisher content for Cengage MindTap, McGraw-Hill Campus Connect, Pearson MyLabs, and WileyPlus have now been integrated in Rutgers Canvas. When viewing Navigation in course settings, instructors can now simply drag (or enable) the following tools into the Canvas course navigation:
On June 10, 2016 we made an announcement about NetID/CAS being available for authentication in Canvas. At the moment, you must have a pre-existing account (Teacher or Student) in the Canvas system to be properly authenticated.
Canvas Discussions are a native tool in all Canvas courses. Instructors may create both focused and threaded Discussions. Discussions are often used to promote student interaction and exchange of ideas, in online and hybrid courses. Canvas Discussions can be ungraded, graded, assigned to groups, and even peer reviewed.
