The focus of the Center for Online and Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies is to foster an active community of practice among faculty and staff who teach and develop online and hybrid courses, along with those who use instructional technologies to enrich the face-to-face learning environment. Our goal is to create an open environment for sharing what’s working well and what areas we can improve in online learning, and to introduce new innovations in this rapidly evolving field.
In 2012, Rutgers signed a 7-year partnership with Pearson that enables the University to deliver fully online degree programs on a national scale and successfully compete with well-established online providers. This agreement has become known as the “Managed Program.” It is available to all academic units wishing to offer degree programs fully online, but participation in the Managed Program is entirely optional. The Educational Media and Technology group offers video and conferencing services to the Rutgers Community. We will help faculty enhance their classrooms, assist community members in sharing videos, advise departments on the development of smart classrooms and video conference spaces, and provide training resources for individuals who want to make the most of their meeting and classroom experiences.
