ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
A Loyal Son (LC, SCI ’99), Christopher Valera is responsible for the technical operations and system administration of Rutgers Online, the Instructure Canvas Learning Management System, and the Pearson eCollege Learning Management System. His areas of responsibility include IT staff leadership, instructional technology, vendor management, IT project management, application development, data management, and the help desk. Christopher works closely with University leadership, central administration, academic units, and strategic partners in new product discovery, system integration, and delivering tools to the online learning community at Rutgers. Christopher was previously the Assistant Director - IT of IT @ Continuing Studies (IT@CS), Rutgers University.
Janet started working at the Division of Continuing Studies in August 2012. She came on board as the accountant for COHLIT in January 2015. She provides support in all aspects of the daily financial operations for the unit as well as long-term planning. Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. John’s University. She began her career at KPMG in the audit department and holds a Certified Public Accountant license in NY and NJ. She has experience in the private sector for SEC reporting, Financial Reporting, and Tax Reporting and Compliance. Janet is currently working toward her MBA at Rutgers. When Janet is not busy studying or making sure the debits equal the credits, you can find her enjoying time with her two labradoodles, her hubby, and her 3 children.
Stuti Parikh joined COHLIT in 2016 as a Program Assistant. She is currently a student at Rutgers University pursuing a Bachelor's degree as an Exercise Science major with a minor in Nutrition. In addition to working with the COHLIT team, she also volunteers in research facilities as well as the RWJ Barnabas Hospital. In her future she aspires to be a Physical therapist and help children with disabilities. Her responsibilities as a program assistant include working with Instructional Designers to complete course content migrations between various Learning Management Systems.
Bernadette is a Senior Program Coordinator and joined the Division of Continuing Studies in 2007. She is a proud graduate of Rutgers Newark College of Arts and Sciences in Information Systems. Her love of lifelong learning has led to a Certificate in Educational Technology from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education where she is currently enrolled in the Masters of Education for Adult and Continuing Education. As a member of the Center for Online & Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies Bernadette oversees the day to day administration of programs, projects and or processes regarding all aspects of project management. She also is responsible for COHLIT event programming such as the annual Rutgers Online Learning Conference.
Beatrice is a student majoring in Information Technology & Informatics and minoring in Computer Science at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Technology aside, she is also minoring in Music and has a passion for graphic design that continues to inspire her creativity. With the Center for Online and Hybrid Learning, she assists in project management, especially organizing the annual Rutgers Online Learning Conference. Beforehand, she has had coding, digital marketing, and creative design experience which include connecting people to technology in innovative ways. On campus, she volunteers to teach middle-school girls coding with Douglass DIMACS Computing Corps and is Co-Vice President of Rutgers Women in Computer Science. She also plays for the Rutgers Women’s Rugby team in her spare time. Beatrice’s ultimate goal is to push her limits to develop something that improves happiness and the quality of life across the world.
Jessica Tuazon is a Program Assistant for the Center for Online and Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies (COHLIT). She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering here at Rutgers. In addition to assisting the COHLIT team with online and hybrid education programs, Jessica works as a Learning Assistant for the Rutgers Learning Center. She is responsible for the migration of content between various LMSs.
Linda started working at Rutgers in 2000 and joined the Division of Continuing Studies (DoCS) in February 2010. She has a broad range of experience at Rutgers from holding positions at the Center for Latin American Studies and the South Asian Studies Program; Scheduling and Space Management; Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education; and the Department of Anthropology. Linda provides general office management for the Center for Online & Hybrid Learning and Instructional Technologies (COHLIT) and for Information Technology at Continuing Studies (ITaCS). She is responsible for processing technical purchase requests for DoCS, issuing student ID letters for fully online students and providing administrative support to the COHLIT staff.
